This bit gets me too, because I also heard this from my parents- “that’s just what puberty is like!”

I’ve struggled with my parents denial and simultaneous normalization of dysphoria. Were they also trans, or (more likely) are they belittling my feelings?

The whole point of our distress during our first puberty is its the WRONG puberty. It is NOT how everyone feels, as evidenced by the euphoria when we go thru the “right” puberty through HRT.

Long story short, dont try to belittle or normalize dysphoria. It’s not “normal pubertal awkwardness".
